An exciting day awaits cycling enthusiasts in the Hautes-Pyrénées as the sixth stage of the Tour de France 2023 takes place on Thursday, July 6th, in the department ! The highly anticipated stage will lead the riders from Tarbes to Cauterets-Cambasque, offering spectators a thrilling dose of pure action over 144.9 kilometers of scenic roads!
The ceremonial start will be given at 1:10 PM from Tarbes, but twenty minutes later, Christian Prudhomme will trigger the official start. That’s when the real deal begins. The riders will launch at full speed, striving to position themselves for the intermediate sprint, which will take place in Sarrancolin at kilometer 49.2. Get ready for a fierce battle between 2:41 PM and 2:49 PM, as the riders compete for valuable points.
But before diving into this thrilling showdown, the cyclists will first have to overcome the formidable climb of Capvern-les-Bains. The ascent of this epic climb is scheduled between 2:11 PM and 2:16 PM and is guaranteed to raise adrenaline levels and push their muscles to the limit. Consider it a tantalizing appetizer for the rest of the day because the challenges are just beginning !
After conquering the initial challenge, the riders will continue with the Aspin Pass, classified as a first-category climb. Expected between 3:10 PM and 3:22 PM, this majestic col will test their endurance and determination. But wait, there’s more! The highlight of the show will be the dreaded passage at the summit of the Tourmalet Pass, between 3:55 PM and 4:13 PM. This is where the true heroes will stand out, pushing their limits to climb this mythical mountain.
Finally, the much-awaited moment will be the finish at the top of the final ascent towards Cauterets-Cambasque, scheduled between 5:08 PM and 5:33 PM. Who will be the winner of the day, triumphing in this fierce battle ?
