In the heart of a green setting...
The Vallon du Salut offers a picturesque hike with a duration of approximately 45 minutes.
During this walk, discover the Marble Museum, open from Wednesday to Saturday from 14:30 to 17:30.
Located less than twenty minutes from the Carré Py’ Hôtel***, the Vallon du salut was the meeting place between all the ancient populations of Bagnères de Bigorre, since the 18th century. Locals, spa guests, tourists, of all ages run, walk, chat together..
Hardwood, gently sloping meadows, Aygo tebio stream (“warm water”), natural caves, fairy fountain, planted walkways, remarkable biodiversity: the entire valley of Salut and Bédat was ranked—the highest level of heritage recognition of landscapes—by decree in the Council of State on December 20, 2007.
By visiting the museum, you can see the ancient way of doing things and the way in which artisans cut marble to create beautiful sculptures.
The Marble Museum is located in the ancient Salvation Baths. It was born from the passion of collector Jacques Dubarry de Lassalle, who brought together a superb collection of European marbles (320 origins) among which a hundred illustrate the Pyrenean quarries (from the Spanish Basque Country to Languedoc).
The museum also presents contemporary sculptures.
